The Role
As Lead Animator at Splash Damage, you will be responsible for working with the rest of development team to conceive, prototype, and oversee the implementation of exciting gameplay features.
Collaborating closely with the Animation Director, you will drive for high and consistent quality across the game, while providing line management, feedback, and mentorship to the rest of the animation team.
Responsibilities
- Establish and drive animation quality standards and expectations across the team
- Work closely with programmers, artists and designers to implement animations as designed
- Test, review and iterate on animations to tune them to the highest quality
- Manage and develop the animation team by providing regular feedback, setting objectives, and providing mentoring
What we’re looking for
- Experience managing animation teams in a lead capacity through all major stages of commercial game development, with at least one released AAA title
- Demonstrable ability creating both realistic animations of humans, creatures and props
- High degree of proficiency using 3D animation software like 3ds Max or Maya
- Good working knowledge of game development workflows, engines (e.g. Unreal), processes and character pipelines for modelling, rigging and skinning
- Great communication skills to be able to convey and describe ideas efficiently both verbally and written
- A passion for making and playing multiplayer games, especially first and third person shooters
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with technical animation, including rigging, skinning, and problem solving
- Experience with Motion Capture, Cinematics and Facial Animation
